These are examples for me of gaming at it's absolute, utmost, very best. I mean, you travel back and forth up and down the same roads with a purpose just like the old ones, you travel back and forth between several different zones much the same way, you're hunting for more missles and hidden paths just the same way, the ball, and the bombs and shooting the doors are all there, just as they were, you still toggle between your blaster and 's all the same, just Samus eye view. While I may lose some here, I'd still wager that many would agree with me that Metroid Prime (1 and 2) "feels" like the older metroids dispite the fact that it's first person. New Zelda IS old zelda with new in depth graphics. You know, I'd bet that the majority here would agree that dispite the 3D environments, and the behind the shoulder viewpoints, that the new Zelda games (OoT, MM, and WW) "feel" just like the old zelda games (well, not Adventure of Link.) in the way they play, in the way dungeons and the overworld are handled, in the minigames etc etc etc. Would anybody else like to see something like that? That would be the pinnacle of "best of old" meets "best of new" in my opinion.Īnd wouldn't it just be a kick if they did this, and as the bonus disc for pre-ordering it, a new version of super mario all-stars upgraded to graphics of that style and caliber?! (but if this whole Zelda thing taught me anything, it's don't let EGM get your hopes up. The overworld map (or gameboard as it were in SMB3) could be fully 3D, just so long as the missions stages play more like the old ones.

It could be turn based as well like SMW and SMB3. Call me old fashioned, but what I'd like to see is a game staring mario and luigi as the only playable characters, in an environment that is rendered 3-dimensionally and with the best of our current technology in this respect but plays 2 dimensionally in a game that plays like Super Mario World, (or Super Mario 3) You know, a long, complex adventure made up multitudes of side scrolling missions varying from long and complex to short and sweet.
